In 2020, Joey was already talent of the month once as a sc Heerenveen football player.

"Playing football is anything but a solo performance and at the end of the day I am mainly concerned with the prizes that are awarded at the end of the season. Still, it's always nice to get a bit of recognition. I am in a good phase of my career that I like to continue for a while," the Volendam native said upon receiving the award.

Talent of the month

The only 20-year-old Johan Bakayoko accounted for three assists and one goal in November. In doing so, he prolonged the title, as he was also voted talent of the month in October. "It's special to be voted 'talent of the month,' but twice in a row is even more special. I learn a lot from my fellow players and am grateful for the confidence I get every week."
