At Sportpark Zoudenbalch, the girls of Young PSV Women celebrated winning the championship on Saturday. They and followed up their winter championship with a definitive national title after a resounding win over their FC Utrecht peers.

It was exciting until the last moment, because pursuer Jong Ajax Vrouwen had collected the same number of points until the penultimate round of play. After the final whistle there was a 0-4 score on the scoreboard in Utrecht and the competition played a 4-4 draw. As a result, coach Mark den Brok's ladies remained above the chasers on goal difference as well as points. "After an instructive year we have once again achieved the ultimate goal. Super proud of all the players and our staff," he said afterwards.

The girls only conceded eight goals in 10 league matches, which is the lowest number of any team in the league. Against that, they scored 24 goals. The three-pointer in Domstad delivered the seventh win in the spring competition.

Impressive season
Young PSV Women started the spring competition well by winning 4-0 against Jong ADO Den Haag in the first round. The three points were followed up with a minimal victory over FC Twente (1-0) and a quadruple against rival Ajax (0-4). The game ended 2-2 at Jong Feyenoord Vrouwen, the first loss of the season.

In the home game against Jong FC Utrecht, the full booty was taken for the third time this season, as the meeting with the Domstadelingen ended in a 2-0 victory. After a draw against Jong ADO Den Haag and an away win in Enschede (1-3), a 0-3 defeat against Jong Ajax postponed the champions' party. After a 2-0 win over Jong Feyenoord, the FC Utrecht girls went over the knee for the second time this season, making the national title a reality.
