A European Championship qualification tournament was held this week in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the ladies of Oranje O19. Five players from PSV (Academy) were part of the selection and qualified for the final tournament in Lithuania.

That required a total of two hefty victories. Host country Bosnia and Herzegovina was beaten first and that was accompanied by double digits. Veerle Buurman, Kealyn Thomas, Robine Lacroix and Emma Frijns started in that game. Robine and Emma accounted for the second and fourth goals of that encounter. After the game, a 10-0 final score stood on the scoreboard.

The second group game was played against their peers from Poland and they went down 3-0. The final group match against Finland was won 2-1.

Big influence
With five delegates from PSV Campus De Herdgang, the club was purveyor of Oranje O19. Nina Nijstad and Gwyneth Hendriks were called up for the first time by national coach Andries Jonker of the Orange Lionesses. They were in the selection during the qualifying matches against Italy (2-0 defeat) and Norway (1-0 win). Unfortunately, they both did not appear in action and their debut for the national team is still some time away.
