PSV earned its ninth away win of the Eredivisie season Sunday night. In the game with FC Volendam (1-5), Jerdy Schouten was again invaluable. The scoring midfielder was voted Man of the Match by the fans.

In the fishing village, PSV started the match far from ideal, as after only two minutes the ball was behind Walter Benítez. After a goal from Ismael Saibari, it was Jerdy's turn, who directly controlled a header from Luuk de Jong and tapped it into the Volendam goal. In doing so, he put PSV ahead for the first time in the match. It proved to be the prelude to a big win.

Near-perfect
Head coach Peter Bosz indicated beforehand that Jerdy played the past few games with a respiratory infection. That the midfielder has fully recovered can be seen in the numbers. Jerdy had a passing accuracy of 99%. Only one of his seventy passes did not arrive at the destination. In addition, he gained considerable ground with 26% of his passes. With that, he can quietly be labeled the playmaker of the evening.

Ironclad
Not only on the ball was Jerdy a certainty, as the midfielder also stood out defensively. He conquered the ball no fewer than nine times at the Kras Stadion, including seven interceptions and two recaptures after a physical duel. Only André Ramalho (12) and goal scorer Jordan Teze (10) did that more often. And the summer acquisition also stood his ground offensively, as he won all his duels in the Volendammers' half.
