In match round 27, PSV resumes the Eredivisie with an away match against NEC. The goal counter at Nijmegen's Goffert Stadium stands at 99, putting PSV on the verge of a fine milestone.

Nearly a year ago, on March 1, 2023, the previous edition of this game was played (2-4). Luuk de Jong (2X), Olivier Boscagli and Joey Veerman got on the scoreboard on behalf of the A-selection. Olivier will return to the Waalstad with an extra warm feeling. After all, he scored his first goal after long injury. The last time PSV returned home without points was November 8, 2008.

Earlier this season, PSV won the home game 4-0 thanks to goals by Luuk de Jong (2x), Noa Lang and Ricardo Pepi. The game was extra special because PSV played in the PSV x Philips Celebration Kit and Hirving Lozano entered the lines for the first time since his return from Naples.

Dangerous opponent
Coach Rogier Meijer's team has currently already equaled last season's point total (39). The last seven home games were all won. On the other hand, PSV has not been beaten by NEC for twenty league matches. On December 15, 2012, the Nijmegen players last held a point from a home match against PSV.

Cheering
Of the last ten meetings at NEC, only one was lost (08-11-2008), one draw (15-12-2012) and the remaining eight away games yielded three-pointers. In eight of the last ten visits to the Goffert Stadium, PSV scored at least two goals. The exceptions are the defeat (1-0) and the draw (1-1).

In addition, the team from Peter Bosz is currently running a scoring streak of 42 games, chasing the record already held by PSV, a streak of 54 between 2014-2016.

Records
The win over FC Twente also marked a special milestone for Peter Bosz. Namely, he is the first coach since season 2019-2020 who managed to stay unbeaten for at least 26 consecutive Eredivisie matches.

Luuk de Jong is also having a special season and can match and possibly improve his own record on Nijmegen soil. The counter currently stands at 31 goals in all competitions, which puts him just one goal away from his record at club level: 32. The PSV captain played seven times against NEC during his career and scored at least once in each encounter.
