On the final day of the winter transfer window, PSV rented Patrick van Aanholt from Galatasaray for six months. Then that deal will be extended for another season. Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart is happy that PSV can make use of the back for another year. "Patrick is a wing defender as we like to see at PSV: he offers offensive impetus, but also has defensive qualities. In addition, he adds a bit of experience to the selection. For those reasons we were keen to continue with him for longer."
Turn quickly found
The 32-year-old defender has been in action every game since his arrival. The last two games he played ninety minutes twice ánd he gave his first assists. "It feels like I've been playing here all season. I found my niche very quickly and I am happy that I will also be in action for PSV next season," said the native of Bosschenburg. In total, Patrick has already played 435 matches in professional football.
