Young PSV made a good impression in the first match after the winter break. The pledges played strongly against top-ranked Jong Ajax, but could not reward themselves. It ended 0-0 at PSV Campus De Herdgang.

Debutants
Due to the various training camps, Young PSV had quite a few absentees against Jong Ajax. As a result, coach Peter Uneken gave talents Mees Kreekels, Shurandy Sambo and Mathias Kjølø the chance. The debutant trio had a fine opening phase with the team. Not surprisingly, the first big chance of the match was for Young PSV. Ngonge cleverly made himself free between the lines, but met Jong Ajax goalkeeper Scherpen in the finish. Ten minutes before halftime, the goalie had to save again, this time after a dribble by Andrew Mondonça.

Timan
Goals, however, failed to materialize also because the sparse opportunities created by Jong Ajax did not pose any problems for goalkeeper Youri Roulaux. In the second half, the first chance was also for Young PSV. A good attack set up by Sambo ended at the feet of Kjølø. The Norwegian had plenty of time to strike, but he too hit Scherpen's hands. Only then did the guests get into the game better, which resulted in a number of good opportunities that were defused by Roulaux. In the closing stages, after Damian Timan also made his debut as a professional footballer, the game went back to normal. Ajax had to continue with ten men, but PSV could not take advantage of the numerical majority.
