For the first time in history, Almere City will visit Philips Stadium. The Eredivisie debutant is Saturday night's opponent in the 19th round of play. PSV can win a league game for the 1400th time.

In total, PSV played only twice against current number thirteen of the Eredvisie. Both matches took place in Flevoland, where the first encounter took place on Oct. 29, 2014. In the third round of the TOTO KNVB Beker, the main squad won 5-1. Luciano Narsingh, Georginio Wijnaldum (2x) and Jürgen Locadia (2x) scored the goals. Earlier this season, PSV won 4-0 thanks to goals by Guus Til, Hirving Lozano, Joey Veerman and Ricardo Pepi.

Midweek matches
The team from Peter Bosz played the eighth final of the TOTO KNVB Beker against Feyenoord on Wednesday night. The Rotterdammers won 1-0 at De Kuip. PSV won the last two editions of the Cup, but cannot prolong its title again. Almere City played a midweek catch-up game against Fortuna Sittard. Both teams failed to score.

1400th win
In the previous round, PSV lost points for the first time this season. In an away game with FC Utrecht, they drew 1-1. PSV is now unbeaten for 34 games this season. If the main squad takes at least one point against Almere City, the club record will be equaled. The previous time PSV was unbeaten 35 games in a row was 1987-1988. If PSV beats Almere City on Saturday night, it will be the 1400th Eredivisie victory in club history. Only Ajax preceded PSV in that.

27/28
Luuk de Jong scored against 27 of his 28 Eredivisie opponents. Only against Almere City did he not yet find the net. If he scores this weekend, he will have another perfect score.
