Sergiño Dest is one of three Americans who signed with PSV in the summer of 2023. The wingback, initially on loan from FC Barcelona, doesn’t have to wait long for his debut; just two days after signing his contract, he makes his debut in the away match against Rangers FC. From that moment on, the Almere-born right-footed player becomes an indispensable part of the starting lineup. But after 37 matches for PSV, a serious knee injury throws a wrench in the works. Despite this, PSV permanently acquires him from FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window.


Sergiño is a U.S. international. In the summer of 2026, he will play in the World Cup on home soil. Dest came up through the Ajax youth system and made his debut at the Johan Cruijff Arena at the age of eighteen. After one season in Amsterdam, Ronald Koeman brought him to FC Barcelona. There, he played 72 matches and won the Copa del Rey.
