Mauro Jaqueson Júnior Ferreira dos Santos, as the Brazilian is fully named, signed his first contract with PSV in 2017 after completing several training camps. He initially joined the reserve team, but made his debut for the first team that same year. At the end of that season, he was crowned national champion, an impressive start to what has since become a rich career at PSV.

Although Mauro spent a year on loan at Heracles Almelo, he is now one of the longest-serving players in PSV's selection. When it comes to his position on the pitch, it's easier to ask where he doesn't play. In his early years, he mainly played in midfield and on the wings, but in recent seasons he has mainly been active as a left or right-back. Manager Peter Bosz calls him a “soldier” because Mauro always does exactly what is asked of him.
