PSV Women did not win their second league match. Against FC Utrecht, the team came back from a deficit to tie the game at 1-1, but despite dominating play and mounting a late offensive, they were unable to score a second goal.

FC Utrecht dug in deep in its own half from the start. As a result, PSV Women had possession almost constantly. The ball moved effortlessly from left to right, but vertical and diagonal passes rarely yielded anything. FC Utrecht countered with two fast breaks in the first 45 minutes. Rochelity Dap posed a threat on both occasions, scoring on one of them. PSV Women had one huge chance of their own. First-time starter Princess Marfo found herself one-on-one with Nicky Evrard, but the former PSV goalkeeper came out on top in that duel.

In the second half, PSV Women increasingly imposed their will on the opponent. At times, the equalizer seemed only a matter of time, but the clock kept ticking and the goals failed to materialize. Kasper Kurland brought in Hickelsberger, Rijsbergen, Jacobs, and debutant Altena to provide various attacking impetus, but even they could not prevent PSV from repeatedly running into a wall of Utrecht defenders around the penalty area.

In the 80th minute, there was a brief sense of déjà vu reminiscent of last week. Once again, a defender put the ball into her own net, giving the PSV Women’s team hope for a victory with ten minutes remaining. This time, however, there was no late winning goal. For the first time this season, PSV Women dropped points.
