PSV Women won their home match against De Graafschap 4-0. Kasper Kurland’s team played a very dominant game against the newly promoted side. Seventeen-year-old Aymee Altena scored her first goal in the red and white.
The only phase in which the visitors had even a slight say was the opening phase. Not that the “Super Farmers” created any chances, but the game was still somewhat evenly matched. After fifteen minutes, the match had already become more one-sided, and it didn’t take long for that dominance to pay off. In the 23rd minute, Liz Rijsbergen scored the 1-0 goal, assisted by Robine Lacroix.
After that, it looked for a long time as though PSV was headed for a straightforward victory, but that changed when Kasper Kurland’s team was awarded a penalty. Liz Rijsbergen fired the penalty—which she had earned herself—hard into the net. With that, the left winger scored her tenth goal in ten games this season.
PSV extends lead
PSV once again fielded quite a few young players. Among them were 18-year-old Rosalie Renfurm, 21-year-old Lacroix, and 17-year-old Aymee Altena. The Frisian forward has already played eight games this season and just scored her first goal, assisted by Julia Hickelsberger.
In the final minutes, goalkeeper Nicky Evrard sent a goal kick to Chimera Ripa , leaving her alone in front of the net. Chimera, clever as she is, dribbled past De Graafschap’s goalkeeper and sealed the 4-0 final score.
Next Wednesday, PSV will play the second leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Europa League. The team won the home match 1-0 against Fortuna Hjørring.
