PSV U19 won its fourth match in the UEFA Youth League 3-2. Liam van Nistelrooij scored the winning goal in the closing minutes. With nine points, Jasper Waalkens’ team is now all but certain to advance to the next round.

The visitors from Belgium immediately showed that they had not come to Eindhoven for nothing. As early as the second minute, Club Brugge found the back of the net and put the score at 0-1. PSV realized it had to step up and tried to create chances through attacking play. In the 20th minute, Austyn Jones had the first big chance to tie the game. The striker managed to chip the ball over the goalkeeper with a beautiful arc from outside the penalty area, but the ball bounced just over the crossbar. Fifteen minutes later, they finally found the net: goals by Mathieu Buyens in the34th minute and by Samuel Dumbili in the36th minute turned the game around.

After halftime, play resumes at the TenCate Stadium de Herdgang. Club Brugge immediately sets out to score the equalizer—and succeeds. In the47th minute, Jessi Da Silva manages to level the score for his team: 2-2. Not many chances were created in the second half, so it looked like the match would end in a draw. In the85th minute, coach Jasper Waalkens made three substitutions. Liam van Nistelrooij was one of them. A striker with a nose for the goal—he’s proven that time and again this season. Just two minutes after coming on as a substitute, he found the back of the net. PSV maintained control for the rest of the match and secured the victory.
