The match against Frankfurt is a rematch of last season’s round of 16. Back then, the Germans came out on top over the two-leg series. After a 1-2 loss in Eindhoven, PSV also lost the return leg in Germany: 3-1. Liz Rijsbergen put PSV ahead in Frankfurt at the time, but the home team turned the match around.

This season, PSV has the chance to get revenge. The first match will be played on Wednesday, October 28, at 7:00 p.m. at TenCate Stadion De Herdgang. The return match in Germany is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11.

PSV Keeps a Clean Sheet Against
PSV advanced to the round of 16 by eliminating Fortuna Hjørring. In Eindhoven, the team won 1-0. PSV also kept their Danish opponent from scoring in the second leg, meaning a 0-0 draw was enough to advance.

Liz Rijsbergen is one of PSV’s key forwards this season. In twelve matches, she scored thirteen goals and provided six assists. Chimera Ripa , too, has made a significant contribution to the team’s scoring: she has scored six times.

League
PSV Women currently sits in third place in the Eurojackpot Women’s Eredivisie with sixteen points. Last week, they defeated Ajax 4-1 in Amsterdam. That was the first goal PSV had conceded in five matches.

Eintracht is also in third place in the Bundesliga. In its last three matches, it defeated Stuttgart (3-0), tied with Bayer Leverkusen (1-1), and lost to Bayern Munich (0-1).

The winner of the two-leg series advances to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup, where they will face either Real Sociedad or Fenerbahçe.
