PSV Women is reinforced with Shanice van de Sanden effective immediately. The 97-time Dutch international is transferring from Mexican Toluca and will join Roeland ten Berge's squad during the preparation for the second half of the season. The outdoor player has signed a contract that ties her to PSV until mid-2027.

With her arrival, Shanice returns to the Eurojackpot Women's Eredivisie, in which she already played 154 games between 2008 and 2016. At the time, the 33-year-old attacker played for FC Utrecht, sc Heerenveen and FC Twente. This was followed by an impressive foreign career with Liverpool FC, Olympique Lyon and VfL Wolfsburg. With Lyon she experienced her greatest club successes. Among other things, she won the UEFA Women's Champions League there three times. In the final on May 28, 2018, she substituted during the extension when they were trailing 1-0. With three assists, she turned the game around completely, after which Lyon triumphed 4-1.

From 2024, Shanice played in Mexico: first for Pachuca and then two seasons for Toluca. This season she appeared in sixteen of seventeen league games. After the last round of games in November, she was given a free transfer to PSV by mutual agreement.

Ambitions
Besides her rich club career, Shanice also made a name for herself with the Orange Lionesses. At 16, she made her debut in the national team, winning gold at the 2017 European Championship and silver at the 2019 World Cup. The 97-time international is happy to return to the Netherlands: "I had wanted that for a while, so when PSV came along I was immediately excited. In recent months I have followed the team extra and lived with it immediately, because it quickly felt like my team. PSV is a wonderful club and I am proud to wear the shirt. I want to win prizes with the girls, get the national title."

Technical Manager Marco Knirsch adds with Shanice both quality and experience to the selection: "Shanice is an incredibly good footballer. She combines speed with technique and that makes her very interesting for the team. Of course we already have a good forward, but with her arrival we anticipate the departure of a lot of experience next summer. Finally, with her mentality and infectious energy, Shanice is of great value to the team and the pursuit of our ambitions."
