PSV has reached an agreement with AS Monaco on the transfer of Myron Boadu. The 24-year-old striker signs a contract until the summer of 2026, with an option for an additional season.

"It's an honour to be here," said Boadu during his first interview as a PSV player at the Philips Stadium. "When this club, which is also the Dutch champion, comes knocking on your door, I think you should always take the first flight. It's a team full of quality, and that's also reflected in the head coach. I'm a religious guy that can say that God has answered my prayers."

He will play with his familiar shirt number 21. Boadu is not yet eligible to play in Saturday evening's match against Telstar, but he can't wait to make his debut in red and white. "I am truly grateful for this opportunity and want to show everyone that PSV made a good move in signing me. I am a player who can make a difference with my strength and speed. Someone who scores goals, but also wants to let others shine. I am very proud of this transfer and can't wait to get started."

Boadu came through the AZ youth academy, where he made his official debut in the first team in May 2018. After years of playing as a striker for the first team, Boadu moved to AS Monaco in the summer of 2021. The striker ultimately played 68 official matches for the Monegasque club. Last season, he played on loan for VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga, scoring nine goals. Boadu also has one international cap for the Dutch national team and dozens of Europa League matches to his name.

"Due to Alassane Pléa's long-term injury, we were looking for immediate reinforcement for our attack," says Director of Football Earnest Stewart. "Myron emerged as the most interesting option. He is a proven goalscorer and also strikes us as eager. We are convinced that Myron will help us with goals and assists both in the Netherlands and in the Champions League."
