PSV has committed Lucas Pérez with immediate effect. The experienced transfer-free striker signs a contract in Eindhoven until the end of the season.

The 36-year-old striker will play with jersey number 27. "I can't wait to show myself to the fans and my new teammates," assures the brand new PSV acquisition. "I am very ambitious and look forward to delivering a lot of goals and assists. My first impression of the club is very good, I am energized by the people I have already met."

Lucas played his last league game last January 19, for his childhood sweetheart Deportivo La Coruña. He then had his contract with the Spanish club terminated for personal reasons. "PSV was right on top of things and did everything they could to bring me to Eindhoven," Lucas knows. "That did me very well. Unfortunately, it took a little longer than planned to come to a final agreement, due to personal reasons on my part. I found a solution for that and I am very grateful for the fact that the club management of PSV remained so patient."

Besides Deportivo La Coruña, Lucas scored in his career for Arsenal FC, West Ham United, Deportivo Alavés and PAOK Saloniki, among others. The striker can no longer be entered for the Champions League this season, but realizes there is still plenty to play for. "I am hugely driven to help this club achieve its other goals, including winning the national title and national cup."

Lucas joins Peter Boszs group training on Monday right away. "I have worked extremely hard in recent weeks, both on and off the pitch. I am more than ready to prove myself here."
