The paths of PSV and Matteo Dams are separating. The 20-year-old defender will leave for Al-Ahli SC, which plays in the Saudi Pro League. His contract with PSV ran until July 1.
Matteo Dams has spent almost his entire football life at PSV. The left back and central defender started at the PSV Academy in 2012, where he went through all the youth teams. In addition, the Belgian youth international played 48 league games for the U23 team. In the 2022-2023 season, he won the prestigious Premier League International Cup with Young PSV.
This summer he joined the preparation of the main squad and convinced to such an extent that he was allowed to stay. On September 27, he was permanently included in the A-selection. In total he appeared in 24 matches for PSV 1, including six in the UEFA Champions League.
