As always, Peter Bosz spoke to the press again on Friday afternoon. Despite trailing Feyenoord in the league, Peter Bosz takes a positive view of his team’s play. “I think the football we’re playing right now is really good.”

How do you look back on the match against Feyenoord now?
“Actually, the same as back then: that we played very well. In fact, I think it was our best first half of the season. We kept winning the ball back so quickly. It’s a shame we didn’t win, because the chances were there. In those moments, you really notice that someone like Pepi isn’t there.”

Did you expect to become so dependent on the scoring ability of Guus Til?
“Guus always scores. I think we’re playing good football. That’s better than during the period when we played against FC Utrecht and FC Groningen. We scored a lot back then, too. Sometimes you go through certain periods when the goals come a bit more easily. I think the football we’re playing now is really good. We need to keep it up.”

Who can make a difference this season, now that Ismael Saibari has left?
“That’s the beauty of football. When I joined this club, I didn’t expect Ismael Saibari to undergo such a transformation. We now have a number of talented players again. I’m convinced that in time, we’ll be able to talk about other players in the same way. I think we have a few candidates for that. We’ll see who it turns out to be.”

How is Ricardo Pepi doing?
“He’s training with the team, and it’s going very well. You might think a player who’s just returned from an injury would be nervous. He isn’t. And rightly so, because he’s in great physical shape. He’s really had some bad luck with a few niggles. It’s not yet clear whether he’ll be in the lineup tomorrow.”

How disappointed are you about the injuries to the new players, such as Sam Lammers and Sami Ouaissa?
“I find that very upsetting. I was involved in the decisions to sign them and fully supported them. They’re good football players we really wanted on the team. This is beyond our control. You join a new club and want to show what you can do as quickly as possible. In Sami’s case, it’s also a new injury, so that’s really a bummer, especially for the guy.”

How do you view the development of young talent at PSV?
“I watched the [Premier League International Cup] match featuring theyoung players. They played really well, and it was fun to watch. They have a lot of talent. Matches like this help them develop. They’re eager to train with the first team and occasionally join them for matches. Hopefully, in three or four years, we’ll still be talking about those guys.”
