Peter Bosz is proud of his team after the 4-0 victory over Girona FC. Certainly Malik Tillman gets compliments from the head coach: "He can become very good."
How did you think the team played?
"In the first half, we mixed up too much. That was because they were pulling players out of position. But after some adjustments at halftime, we actually played a very good game."
What are you most pleased with?
"The reaction after Saturday. That was very good."
Where was that reaction 'in it?
"Beforehand I said that I want to see a team that shows guts. A team that dares to press, no matter how well they can play football. That's exactly what they did."
How good can Malik Tillman get?
"Very good. He needs to become more stable. I just talked to him about the position. He wants to be at 10, but I think he would be better at eight. He's not selfish enough for the ten."
He reminds me of Frank Rijkaard.
"Yes, I can relate to that. They are also both modest guys and incredible athletes."
What did you think of the disallowed goal.
"I didn't understand it. The fourth man me was very good. He was calm and just explained it. That's nice, but when I looked back at it later - maybe through PSV glasses - I thought it was heavily penalized."
When did you decide to put Mauro JR on six.
"Stijn Schaars came up with that and I could agree with it. I think it can be done hear, a midfield with Malik on six. But still, you can see that Mauro thinks more defensively. He did an excellent job today."
Ismael Saibari had to disappoint.
"Yes, I explained that to him. He just got back from an injury. He played ninety minutes against Ajax. Starting again two days later would be a risk. If you have a choice then you make it."
Still, it remains special, that Mauro can play anywhere.
"I once called him a soldier last year. If you give a soldier an order, he carries it out. And then Mauro does too."
