How do you look back on tonight’s match?
“Almere City put us under pressure, which left us with little time to build up our attacks. Often in those situations, you either opt for the long ball or lose possession, but tonight we played our way out of it well. We did have a few sloppy moments, but overall we played well. We built up play calmly, were patient when necessary, and managed to play our way out of pressure effectively. This is the PSV I like to see.”
What did you enjoy most tonight?
“The energy the team radiated. Even when we lost the ball, we quickly regained possession. We gave the opponent little time and space, and I’m very happy that we kept a clean sheet. I think we put on a great game for the fans.”
How do you view Ismael Saibari Saibari’s performance?
“Ismael is a player who still has a lot to learn, because he has enormous potential. That potential is really starting to show now. When you look at his qualities—like how he cuts inside—you can see just how talented he is. He’s getting better and better at using his technique when shooting, rather than relying solely on his power. He’s making great progress.”
And what about Johan Bakayoko’s performance?
“He played a good game. Johan worked hard tonight, but on top of that, he also showed his class. The goal he scored is incredible. With every ball he received, he sought out his opponent—I saw that freshness again.”

"I wouldn’t call it easy, because we had to work hard. But scoring five goals and creating so many chances—that’s obviously great."

“I’m very proud. That was one of my goals when I joined PSV. Now that I’ve actually played more than a hundred matches, I’m very happy and proud.”
The coach thinks you’re playing better, both in training and in matches. How do you feel about that?
"Yes, we are indeed playing better. We’re applying pressure more effectively and are also better at relieving pressure ourselves—I can feel that, too. Because of that, I’m enjoying the game even more."

“Yes, that was a really great pass. I’m happy for him—another assist to his credit.”
