PSV has rewarded the development of Fedde Leysen with a first professional contract. The 16-year-old defender signed a three-season contract at Philips Stadium.
Belgium
Fedde Leysen is a left-footed central defender of Belgian origin and has been playing in PSV's youth academy since last season. Before that, the Belgium Under 17 youth international played in the youth of OH Leuven. At PSV he played for the under 17 team since last summer. Next year he will make the switch to PSV under 18, where he will work under Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Campus
The defender received a shirt during the official signing moment at the stadium, presented by Head of Youth Training Ernest Faber. As a rule, the contract signings of youth players were supposed to take place at PSV's Campus starting this season, but due to current circumstances, they are being moved to Philips Stadium. Due to measures against the spread of the coronavirus, two loved ones per player are welcome at the official signing. Wondering who Leysen is? Watch the video below.
