It has been a week of extremes for Ricardo Pepi. The 22-year-old striker suffered a knee injury Wednesday and a few days later signed a contract that ties him to PSV until mid-2030.

Pepi and PSV reached a verbal agreement this week, prior to the midweek match against Liverpool. The official signing moment followed this weekend at PSV Campus De Herdgang. "It's a difficult week for me, but I'm still very happy at the moment and that's because of this deal," assured Pepi, whose contract originally ran until mid-2028.

"Thanks to the enormous amount of love and opportunities PSV gives me and the special club that PSV is, I had no doubts about extending my contract. We have already experienced many unforgettable moments together and hopefully many special milestones will follow."

Pepi will be sidelined for the time being because of the knee injury he suffered in the match against Liverpool. This weekend he will travel to Los Angeles for medical surgery, among other things. "At the time it happened, I thought the injury wasn't too bad. But the next day I knew something was wrong. This is unfortunately the risk of our profession, but I assure you that I will be back as soon as possible."
