PSV has broken open Joey Veerman 's contract, extending it until the summer of 2028. "I am still very much in my place here," said the 25-year-old playmaker after signing at Philips Stadium.

The Volendam native was initially fixed until mid-2026 with PSV. "We are very pleased with this extension," assured Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart. "This is also a reward for Joey for the great development he has made since he came over from sc Heerenveen in January 2022. Joey is very important in the football that trainer Peter Bosz would like to play with PSV. We hope to enjoy him for a long time to come."

Among other things, Joey played a key role in capturing last season's national title and other awards PSV won in recent years. "I'm super happy with this appreciation," said the 16-time international, who is currently rehabilitating from an injury. "On a sporting level, PSV is doing well and together with my family I am very happy in Eindhoven. This is a great day for all parties involved. I hope to be of value on the pitch again as soon as possible and to celebrate great successes with our supporters."
