PSV will play its final match on Sunday before a short international break. Peter Bosz ’s squad will travel to Leeuwarden to face SC Cambuur. The last meeting between PSV and SC Cambuur took place on Sunday 19 March 2023, when PSV won at home (5-2).

The most recent match against the Frisians was won, but the last encounter in Leeuwarden was not. On Wednesday 1 October 2022 they lost 3-0. The first goal came in the 54th minute, after which Cambuur sealed the victory in the 84th and 90th minutes.

SC Cambuur are ninth in the league with fifteen points. Last year the club was promoted to the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie after a three-year absence. SC Cambuur is led by Johan Plat, who was appointed head coach last summer. This is his first stint as head coach in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie.

PSV’s biggest victory over SC Cambuur in history came in 2015. PSV won 0–6 that year, thanks in part to a hat-trick by Luuk de Jong.

Current form
PSV won its last league match 7-0 against Willem II. Seven different players scored in that match. In the UEFA Champions League, however, the team failed to win its last match. Despite numerous chances and shots, Club Brugge won 1-2 on Wednesday evening. PSV has the best goal difference in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie, at 22. Peter Bosz ’s team trails Ajax by one point and Feyenoord by two points. Both clubs will also play this coming Sunday: Ajax against FC Twente and Feyenoord against sc Heerenveen.

Kooi Stadium
Since the summer of 2024, SC Cambuur has played at the Kooi Stadion. The new ground seats 15,000 fans, compared to 10,000 at the old stadium. Despite the larger capacity, the away section has not been expanded. Just as in the previous stadium, the away section accommodates approximately 750 fans. PSV has not yet played a match at the Kooi Stadium.

A Familiar Face
SC Cambuur has a familiar name in its squad in Sami Bouhoudane. The forward completed his entire youth training at PSV and moved to the Frisian club last summer. In Eindhoven, he played regularly for the reserve team, but he never made an official debut with the first team. At SC Cambuur the 18-year-old has already played ten matches.
