PSV is strengthening its attacking line with Fábio Silva. The Portuguese striker comes on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. The rental period of Ki-Jana Hoever, who was on loan from the same English club in the first half of the season, will end immediately.
First reinforcement
The Portuguese youth international was already in the stands during this weekend's match against Vitesse. After completing the medical examination at medical partner TopSupport, the final wrinkles in the deal were ironed out. General manager Marcel Brands explains why the Portuguese was brought in. "Fabio is a versatile striker who can play in multiple positions up front. He gives us extra options and we are very happy with that." Fabio joins the A squad with immediate effect. He is the first reinforcement of the winter transfer window.
Hiring period Hoever terminated
Ki-Jana will no longer be part of PSV's A-selection. In the interest of his development, Wolves are looking for a new club where he will have more chance of minutes played. The 21-year-old winger came over on loan from England this summer. Dependently, the deal was supposed to last one year, but the deal has thus ended early. Ki-Jana is still training with PSV in the near future. In five Eredivisie matches, he provided two assists.
Champion
Fábio Silva was barely 17 years old when he made his debut for FC Porto in 2019. That season he became champion of Portugal and took the cup. For the past six months, he was on loan with RSC Anderlecht. In 20 games, he scored seven times for the Belgian team. The 20-year-old striker was immediately excited when PSV showed interest. "Here young talent gets the chance to develop. In addition, I can start learning from Ruud Van Nistelrooij. One of the best strikers ever." On our channels we will introduce Fabio to you in detail.
