Dutch international and former top scorer in the world Fenna Kalma is a PSV player as of today. The 25-year-old striker comes over from VfL Wolfsburg and signs a contract that ties her to PSV until the summer of 2028.
With Fenna, PSV brings in a goal-scoring machine. In the seven seasons she played in the Azerion Women's Eredivisie, three on behalf of sc Heerenveen and four in the FC Twente shirt, she scored 120 goals in 126 matches. Especially the two seasons before her transfer to VfL Wolfsburg were very productive with 63 goals in 44 league games. In the Netherlands, she then won all the prizes: twice the national title, twice the Eredivisie Cup, once the TOTO KNVB Beker and once the Super Cup. In 2022, she became the world's top scorer in women's football.
Playing football and scoring
Last season, Fenna was still in action for VfL Wolfsburg for 20 league games, but this football year her part was limited. Therefore, the eight-time international of the Orange Lionesses now chooses a new step: a multi-year contract with PSV Women. "I am very happy with the period I had in Germany, because I learned a lot there, but ultimately I just want to play football and of course score goals."
PSV was not the only candidate for Fenna's signature, but her choice was conscious and well thought out. "At PSV the whole picture is right. PSV Campus De Herdgang is a fantastic environment with all the facilities you need as a top athlete. Moreover, there is an ambitious project going on here. I am happy to be part of it," says Fenna, who is immediately employable. "At VfL Wolfsburg I participated in the full preparation for the second half of the season, so I am fit. I'm eager to get started."
Effective
With the departure of Zera Hulswit to Feyenoord, there was a vacancy in the attack. "That we can fill it with a player of Fenna's caliber underlines the ambitious project we are working on," says Technical Manager Maud Roetgering, who sees in Fenna a guarantee for goals: "She has proven time and again how effective she is. Her shots rarely miss the target and she is also a constant threat in the air. We are enormously looking forward to seeing her in action."
