Steven Bergwijn is continuing his career at Tottenham Hotspur. The 22-year-old striker trades PSV immediately for the English top club, which reached the UEFA Champions League final last season.
Fixed value
With Steven Bergwijn, PSV has once again trained a player for the absolute world top. The native of Amsterdam has played in PSV's youth academy since the 2011-2012 season, where he played through all the highest youth teams. In the spring of 2014 he signed his first professional contract with the club, after which he made his debut at the age of 17 during the KNVB Cup match with Almere City. Slowly but surely, the striker grew into a regular. In the 2017-2018 championship season, Bergwijn reached 32 league games in which he scored eight goals. The following season, Bergwijn scored 14 times in 33 games.
Extend again
Last summer, despite interest from abroad, the striker opted for another season at PSV. He extended his contract until mid-2023 and seemed to continue the line of last season. Partly due to injury, that did not always succeed. Still, Bergwijn was involved in 15 goals (5 goals, 10 assists).
