PSV Women drew 2-2 in the away match against Feyenoord. For a long time, Roeland ten Berge 's team looked to be heading for a deserved victory at Varkenoord, but on 99 minutes the home side equalized well past the end of extra time.
Liz Rijsbergen has been in excellent form in recent weeks and underlined that again in the 11th minute. The 23-year-old attacker incited from her own sixteen, received the ball in the run from Chimera Ripa and crossed the entire field. From the edge of the penalty area, she coolly finished. It marked her third goal in a row.
PSV remained the dominant side after that and doubled its lead in the 20th minute. Nina Nijstad served Riola Xhemaili, who cleverly passed the ball to Lore Jacobs. The 20-year-old Belgian hit the target and signed for her fifth league goal of the season.
In the 35th minute, PSV appeared to even the score at 0-3. Liz tapped the ball past the goalkeeper and shot toward the empty goal, but a defender prevented a goal with her arm. Unfortunately, this eluded the arbitration. Shortly afterwards PSV became more sloppy in the build-up, which allowed Feyenoord to come back into the game. The goal came just before half time: 1-2.
Fighting match
After the break, PSV started with Moon Biegel Esteves under the crossbar; Nicky Evrard stayed behind in the dressing room due to injury. The game hardly changed: PSV again had most of the ball possession and created chances, but failed to capitalize on them. At the same time, the duels became fiercer and several riots ensued, adding to the tension.
In the closing stages PSV came under increasing pressure, but seemed to take the lead over the line when the six minutes of extra time had also expired. The referee, however, did not blow the whistle and let the game continue. That proved disastrous: Feyenoord scored the equalizer from a free kick in the 99th minute.
