PSV Women recorded a convincing and easy victory over FC Utrecht on Sunday afternoon. Within half an hour there was already a 3-0 lead on the scoreboard, a margin that the Eindhoven women held without any problems until the final whistle.
Already in the second minute it was on target. Liz Rijsbergen set aside her opponent with an action characteristic of her; a combination of power and technique put her in scoring position. After a smooth combination with Riola Xhemaili and Lore Jacobs, she finished in a controlled manner. In the 25th minute, Liz and Lore were decisive again. This time the roles turned and it was Jacobs who found the net. Five minutes later Chimera Ripa put high pressure, captured the ball and also outsmarted the Utrecht goalkeeper: 3-0. FC Utrecht had not created a single chance at that moment.
After halftime, the play became slightly more unsettled. Both teams played directly, making the game more up and down. In this phase FC Utrecht got its first opportunities, but goalkeeper Nicky Evrard was not seriously in trouble. There was a nice moment for Shanice van de Sanden, who made her home debut for PSV. In the closing stages she was sent deep by Emma Frijns and reached Renate Jansen, but her effort went just wide of the goal. Thus it remained 3-0.
Wednesday both teams meet again. The cup game is scheduled to start at 17.30 hrs.
