Peter van der Heijden grows the best asparagus in Brabant. The PSV supporter from the Brabant town of Gemert won the election 'Dé Lekkerste Asperge 2016' on April 23. Managing director Toon Gerbrands accepted 'the white gold' on behalf of PSV on Friday.
Philips Stadium
Peter headed to Philips Stadium on Friday morning with his daughter to hand over to Toon Gebrands his 6th year asparagus of the Cumulus variety - that is, the winning asparagus. Peter and his wife Jolanda of Asparagus Farm Van der Heijden are of course delighted with the prize won. In total, they received 220 of the maximum 250 points that could be obtained. They were judged on smell, bite, taste and aftertaste.
