PSV and British football brand Umbro have agreed on a partnership that ties the two parties together for five seasons starting from the 2015-2016 season. Umbro will become the official clothing supplier of the first team, PSV U21, all teams from the PSV Youth Academy and PSV Women. On Tuesday, the agreement was signed at the Philips Stadium by the PSV and Umbro managements.
Expectations exceeded
Technical manager Marcel Brands is very pleased with contracting the English brand. "Our technical staff has been connected from the first moment in deciding on a new clothing partner and was immediately impressed by the way this traditional, genuine football brand presented itself. Umbro's approach has exceeded our expectations on a technical, functional and design level. We are entering a great period with unique, authentic PSV shirts of top quality." Umbro, part of the ambitious U.S. Iconix Brand Group since 2013, is rapidly moving towards regaining its top position in international football. PSV will have a key role in that strategy.
PSV in good company
PSV is added as the newest club to a fine line-up of Umbro partners that includes Premier League clubs Everton and Hull City, Brazil's Grêmio and Vasco da Gama and Gamba Osaka which recently won the treble in Japan. Paul Nugent, vice president Global Marketing Umbro, said, "PSV is a great addition for us. A club with an excellent reputation in Europe and known around the world, it has been continuously active in European club football since 1974. We look forward to seeing PSV play in our specially designed jerseys starting next season."

Football history: from past to present
Manchester-based Umbro has been making football history as the oldest sportswear brand since 1924. From Manchester City (FA Cup winner in 1934) to Pelé's golden Brazil at the 1958 World Cup. From World Champion England in 1966 to the great Liverpool of the 1970s and 1980s. From Romário at the 1994 World Cup to Ronaldo at Internazionale in the late 1990s. From treble winner Manchester United in 1999 to English champion Manchester City most recently in 2012, all these teams wore Umbro jerseys.
