With the championship match approaching, Peter Bosz sticks to what works. For him, the strength lies in the familiar. The coach sees focus within his selection. "That is the only thing we focus on."

You were already in after the game with Heracles Almelo, when FC Groningen made the 2-2 in the closing stages. How did you experience that moment?
"I was already in the trainers' room when we suddenly heard a huge cheer from the stadium. It soon became clear that FC Groningen had scored. In a moment like that, all sorts of thoughts shoot through your head. First of all: we are not there yet. But perhaps more importantly: we have it in our own hands again. The task remains the same, but now we can focus entirely on ourselves."

What is the state of the selection?
"Olivier Boscagli has trained fully with the group, so I assume he will be deployable tomorrow. Richard Ledezma returns after his suspension. The other long-term injured players are still missing."

What did you do with your group today and what is on the program for the next 24 hours?
"Actually, we are doing exactly what we have been doing the past few weeks as well. You only win if you prepare well, treat your opponent with respect, work hard and are fully focused. That's what it's all about - and that's also the only thing we're concerned with."

How is the feeling within the group right now?
"The group is sharp and focused. We discussed the game with Heracles Almelo afterwards and from there made the link to the upcoming game with Sparta Rotterdam. There was attentive listening and full concentration."

How do you view Sunday’s opponent?
“We’re facing a strong opponent. Sparta is a team that likes to play football, with players who are good at building up play from the back. So we’ll have to be sharp and well-organized. We’re going to do everything we can to win.”

What is the battle plan for the game with Sparta Rotterdam?
"The match we have to start with a full pressed throttle. We have had three days of rest, physically we have recovered and training was good. We are ready and looking forward to it."
