PSV will take on Vitesse next round of games, where Peter Bosz was under contract both as a trainer, and as a player. The head coach is therefore fed up with the situation in Arnhem. Nevertheless, he does not want his team to slacken for a moment on Saturday.
The fact that the Arnheimers are in dire straits athletically and financially certainly does not leave the Head Coach cold. "PSV requires all my attention, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it hurts when one of your old employers is in such a state. That keeps you busy. I sincerely hope they at least stick around. They can win every game after tomorrow as far as I'm concerned. Sentiment is what makes our sport so beautiful, but it's all about winning."
Expectation
The victory over AZ had a positive effect, Bosz assured at the press conference. "I was especially happy with the way we played. It was a little more difficult after the winter break, but against AZ we swung again in an old-fashioned way. We set the bar high every week. It's about winning, if possible with attractive football. That's what we want to achieve again tomorrow."
Vitesse currently holds the red lantern and has not gotten what it deserves, the Head Coach judges. "If you look at the football, you see that they played great against Heracles, for example. There are teams playing football less well than Vitesse, but they are now in the corner where the blows fall."
Danger
The Eredivisie has only five league games left and PSV's technical staff is wary of slacking off in the closing stages. "We've come this far in a way, but we're not there yet. We have to make sure the players stay razor-sharp and continue to perform their tasks. That starts with the players themselves and I still see the same sharpness."
He also desires that same focus at Philips Stadium the moment the first whistle sounds at 4:30 pm. "One danger is that we don't perform our tasks against Vitesse. We will have to work hard, play together and put a high intensity on the mat. That is what makes us so strong. Any records would give extra shine to this season, but the biggest shine is the championship."
