Is the task for tomorrow clear?
"For me it is always clear: we want to win every game. That will also be the starting point tomorrow. Of course you always go one hundred percent for the win. If that doesn't work out, you at least try to get a result, but our goal is to win. In the draw, I did not expect this match to be all-decisive. The safest scenario is simply to win, so that we are as independent as possible from other results."
Do you need to tighten up the players for this match?
"I don't think that's necessary. At home against Bayern Munich in the [UEFA] Champions League: I don't think I need to motivate the boys even more for tomorrow. If players need extra motivation for that, then something is not going right. Fortunately, that is absolutely not the case with my squad."
The individual mistakes of the past few games, does that worry you?
"No. On the contrary, I say: continue what you are doing, because I have confidence in it. For players like Jerdy and Yarek, this rarely happens. They are playing a very strong season, so I am confident."
How do you view the current Bayern Munich?
"Of course, I worked in Germany for a long time, so I know the league well, although this Bayern is no longer the same team as in my time. They play one-on-one all over the pitch and have tremendous quality football-wise. They have scored 72 goals in 19 games, which I think says it all. They may have lost to Augsburg last weekend, but they are still the absolute best. It will be a tough match. What I like is that Vincent Kompany also dares to choose young players. That suits their culture."
How do you view Paul Wanner's development?
"Paul has taken time to settle here. He is a young boy with an awful lot of talent. He also needed that period to get physically stronger and to make his game his own within our way of playing. I think he has developed fantastically in recent months."

How do you prepare for a do-or-die match?
"It's a big match and everyone knows what's at stake. We have to win and that automatically provides extra motivation within the group. We are well prepared and know what we have to do tomorrow. The three points are hugely important for us."
Playing against your old club, does that make it extra special?
"Yes, definitely. I still know a lot of guys at Bayern, so it's a special match for me. I've also been in contact with some of them. My time at Bayern Munich was a very nice experience. It is one of the best teams in the world, but I also know our qualities at PSV and know where our chances are against this team."
How do you look at your development at PSV so far?
"It's the first time I've played outside Germany, so in the beginning I had to find my rhythm. I also came back from an injury and a lot came my way. Now I feel good and above all I am very happy that I can and may play a lot at PSV."
