Head coach Peter Bosz looks ahead to Saturday's upcoming match against N.E.C. Nijmegen and praises striker Ricardo Pepi. The coach is driven to take revenge after the recent defeat in the cup against Nijmegen and would like to keep the three points in Eindhoven on Saturday.
How are you handling the tension surrounding the championship?
"That's easy, we've had a week to prepare for N.E.C., which we lost to the other day. So we're going to do everything we can to win the game tomorrow. We don't have it completely in our own hands right now. If we win tomorrow, then a day later you have to wait and see what Feyenoord does. We are just busy with the match we have to play against N.E.C."
What did N.E.C. win the game on last time?
"They have been very effective. They had some chances outside of the goals they scored, but so did we. Beforehand, we knew it would be an open and chaotic match with a lot of duels. There was a lot of ball loss on both sides. In that chaos, you do have to try to get to playing football. It is very clear and recognizable what they are doing."
Are you feeling a sense of revenge?
"Yes definitely, we were beaten on value because they did a great job in that match. It was a real football battle. But yes, you are a sportsman and you want to win. It's alive with the players as well. The feeling is in you, you can talk about it but you just have to show it"
How is Sergiño Dest?
"I spoke to him briefly. He's someone who immediately says: it's bummer, but he wants to recover as quickly as possible and come back quickly and that's exactly what he has to do."
How is Guus Til doing?
"He is doing well, he is back on the pitch working. He can't play tomorrow yet but he is working well. Soon he will rejoin the group and I don't think it will be long before he is back."
How are the injuries within the group?
"We have plenty of them. Of everyone, I think Til is closest to his return. Furthermore, Nick Olij is also going in the right direction. They are both already back on the field, but still training individually."
Is Ricardo Pepi good enough for the top?
"He has a very important quality for a striker. He can score goals. That's really a specialty of his. He has an incredibly hard shot with a lot of precision, with which he can score. He is a goal scorer who always scores. Every club is looking for that."
