PSV can look back on a courageous evening in the BayArena. Peter Bosz 's team played 1-1 against Bayer Leverkusen, taking the first point of this UEFA Champions League campaign.

Peter Bosz 's team started sharply. Already in the fourth minute Ivan Perišić thought to put his team ahead, but his header was disallowed for offside. No goal for the Croatian who was playing his 54th game in the Champions League. The striker, Dennis Man, was playing just his second game in the prestigious tournament.

Bayer Leverkusen punishes
The same was the case for Christian Kofane. The 19-year-old striker was still playing at the second level in Spain last year, now scoring his first goal in the UEFA Champions League. However, his goal was nullified after just a few minutes by Ismael Saibari. It was his first European goal of this season, but already his fifth in the main tournament of the UEFA Champions League. Including the preliminary rounds, Ismael now stands at seven goals. Ismael was named Player of the Match by UEFA and his goal is competing for goal of the week.

Special bond
A special moment followed afterwards when the approximately 2,000 PSV fans who traveled along sang to former player Malik Tillman. The midfielder, now playing for Bayer Leverkusen, regularly showed himself and caused danger, but was applauded after the match. For Peter Bosz, the game was also extra special. Between 2018 and 2021, he stood along the line as a trainer himself. Now he returned with PSV and saw his team get a result in a stadium where he has the necessary memories.
