Several matches have already been played, but on Monday, December 1, Stadion De Herdgang will be officially opened. Various festivities will take place around PSV Women's, PSV U21 and PSV O19's game with RKC Waalwijk to festively inaugurate the new home of PSV Women, PSV U21 and PSV O19.
In early 2025, PSV started construction. There are now two new, permanent stands, accommodating a total of 2,500 spectators. A new home for the women's branch, a command room, new dugouts and a fixed camera platform have also been built. With these additions, the main field has all the facilities of a full stadium, renaming it Stadion De Herdgang.
"We are setting a new European standard with match facilities for PSV U21, PSV Women and our Academy."
Managing Director Marcel Brands is proud that several teams get to play their home matches in such a modern and beautiful venue. "There have been games played in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, the Women's Eredivisie and the UEFA Youth League for years. Duels at a high level with beautiful posters. From now on, that will happen in a stadium that has a positive impact on those matches. It has become a wonderful calling card for the club: for visitors, who benefit from improved facilities, for the television viewer, and for our women's branch, which is taking another step forward with its new own areas," Brands said.
PSV Women
On the east side of the stadium, in addition to a grandstand, there are several offices, a dressing room and a players' home, all specially equipped for PSV Women. Manager of Women's Football Sandra Doreleijers shares Brands' pride. "At PSV, we firmly believe in good facilities to optimally develop talent. With PSV Women we were already leading the way in this, but with the construction of this stadium and the women's football department we can now compete with clubs from the top European leagues. We are also proud to be the first club in the Netherlands to create a unique place of our own for our women's and girls' branch."
New standard
"PSV Campus De Herdgang is a unique location due to its facilities and its special location in nature," explained Director of Philips Stadium Sjors van den Boogaart. "With the addition of this beautiful stadium, we are setting a new European standard with match facilities for PSV U21, PSV Women and our Academy."
