PSV and Joey Veerman have jointly agreed that the 27-year-old midfielder will stay with PSV until next summer anyway.
"There have been many stories going around in recent weeks and we would like to clarify with this," Veerman said. "I wish everyone a wonderful end to 2025, and starting in the new year we and the entire player group will do everything we can to make it an unforgettable second half of the season. See you soon!"
Earnest Stewart says he is very happy with this outcome. "Joey is in several ways a very important player in Peter Bosz's team," said PSV's Director of Football Affairs. "He brings quality, experience and leadership, both on and off the pitch. With this decision we create clarity for everyone at the club. It gives peace of mind and allows us to continue building on our goals with full focus and ambition starting next month. Together we will work hard for a wonderful and successful second half of the season."
