Peter Bosz has appointed Jerdy Schouten as the new captain of PSV 1. This makes the 28-year-old midfielder the successor to Luuk de Jong, the club legend who is still considering his sporting future.
For Schouten, he says it is a huge honor to wear the PSV captain's armband. "I have been under contract here for two years now and by now I feel myself a real PSV player in everything," says the thirteen-time international of the Dutch national team, who has already won two national titles in red and white.
"We are currently working on a very good preparation. Also personally, I am completely ready, together with the rest of the team, to make it another memorable season. The fact that I get to do that as captain is something very special to me. I am going to wear the belt with pride and of course do everything in my power to set the right example in all respects, both inside and outside the lines."
