PSV has extended Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's contract by two years. The former international will thus continue to focus on the composition of the PSV U21 selection in the coming years.

"I am extremely happy about it," Vennegoor of Hesselink said upon signing his new contract. "I've been with PSV for a long time and love being active here. It's nice that I get to continue doing that for the next two years."

Vennegoor of Hesselink joined PSV in a technical position in January 2016. He started as an international scout, advanced to head scout after two years and has been in the role of technical manager for four years. In that position, he is responsible for attracting external talent for the U23 team and preparing players for a possible step up to the main squad.

"Together with the scouting, it is my job to bring the right talents to Eindhoven and make sure they get the handles at PSV U21 in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie to advance to PSV 1 in the foreseeable future. That is what I am going to fully commit myself to in the next two years. It's a wonderful challenge."
