PSV Women did good business in Rotterdam. With the victory over Excelsior Rotterdam, the team not only climbed to first place in the league; thanks to six goals, it also did good business in terms of goal difference.
PSV was dominant right from the start and Ten Berge's team dominated the game. Despite the dominance, it took some time before the chances actually led to goals. Eventually it was Renate Jansen who managed to reach Riola Xhemaili with a great cross from the right side. Xhemaili took the ball beautifully with the outside of her foot and then shot it calmly into the far corner: 0-1.
After a nice attack Fenna Kalma gave the ball with a heel, after which Jansen rounded the ball cleverly. Less than a minute later it was even 0-3. A shot by Nina Nijstad was first denied by the goalkeeper, but in the rebound Jansen was in the right place to shoot the ball in and score her second goal of the match.
Riola makes her 14th
In the second half, PSV continued where it left off and was awarded a penalty within minutes after Fenna was pushed in the back with two hands. Riola got behind the ball and coolly fired in the penalty kick. With this, the Swiss international made her second of the day and scored her fourteenth goal this season, strengthening her position as the club's top scorer. After an hour of play PSV scored a fifth goal and after a clever move Liz Rijsbergen put Lore Jacobs in scoring position who placed the ball out of reach of the goalkeeper with a placed shot. With this assist, Liz kept up her handsome run, in which she scored or gave an assist in every 2026 match at PSV so far.
Fenna Kalma put PSV's sixth goal on the board with a placed shot ten minutes before time, scoring for the second game in a row. Swedish youth international Roos Huitzing made her official debut for PSV Women in the closing stages of the match.
