Women

PSV Women started 2026 strongly with a victory over PEC Zwolle. Thanks to goals by Chimera Ripa and Renate Jansen, the first three points of the new year were secured. The victory was given extra sparkle by the official debuts of newcomers Janice Cayman and Shanice van de Sanden, while Fenna Kalma made her comeback after long-term injury.

The match gets off to a fast start, with immediate pressure from both teams. The first big chance goes to PEC Zwolle, but the shot sails well over the crossbar. Roeland ten Berge ’s team then pushes into the opponent’s half with great dynamism. Just over half an hour into the game, Chimera Ripa scores the opening goal off an assist from Riola Xhemaili. For Chimera, it was her fifth league goal of the season. Just before halftime, Renate Jansen had another great chance to double the lead, but her attempt failed to produce a second goal.

Second half
After halftime, the home team shifts up a gear and creates several opportunities. PSV Women find it difficult to build up their defence due to the high pressure from PEC Zwolle. Still, the second goal for PSV Women falls after a quick switch. Liz Rijsbergen, just a minute into the game, lays the ball perfectly ready for Renate Jansen, who easily slides in the 0-2. This brings Renate to two goals this season in the Eurojackpot Women's Eredivisie and five in total in all competitions. In the closing stages, PEC Zwolle gets a great chance to tie the score, but the post stands in the way of a goal. PSV Women takes the victory and keeps the zero for the seventh time this season.
