TenCate Stadion De Herdgang was the setting for a great spring evening in which PSV won 3-0 over Ajax in the final of the Eredivisie Cup. With this win, PSV added a second prize to an already historic season.
After just under 15 minutes, PSV created the first chance, with Shanice van de Sanden passing the ball dangerously. Chimera Ripa did not hesitate for a moment and pulled the trigger, giving her team the lead. After this, PSV remained dominant and created a lot of danger on the right flank. As the first half progressed the game became more even, but no real chances were created. Just before halftime Ajax came close to an equalizer. A good cross hit the post and the Amsterdammers shot high over in the second half.
PSV extends score
Ten Berge's team flew out of the starting blocks to make it 2-0 within two minutes. Fenna Kalma took a long-range shot and passed the Amsterdam goalkeeper. With this brilliant goal the striker underlined her good form, in which she was involved in four goals in the last three games. After this, Ajax was immediately dangerous, but Moon prevented a quick tying goal. After this chance, PSV became stronger and came close to a third goal several times.
Benthe and Elise debut
In the 71st minute, PSV was once again effective and Sisca Folkertsma was the terminus of a sharp corner taken by Janice Cayman. Sisca coolly finished and brought the score to 3-0. In the closing stages, Chimera came close to her second of the evening, the attacker hitting the woodwork after a nice passing move. Then there was a nice moment for Elise Fischer and Benthe Schippers; they both made their official debuts for PSV Women.
