PSV Women lost 1-3 to FC Twente. Roeland ten Berge 's team started the topper against FC Twente promisingly and got into the lead at Stadion De Herdgang. Despite a combative match, PSV Women were unable to hold off the national champion.
The opening stages produced the biggest chances for the visitors from Enschede. PSV Women showed resilience and held their own. Just before half-time Roeland ten Berge 's team even managed to strike. Nina Nijstad set up the attack herself, played a one-two with Chimera Ripa and finished coolly. With that she brought PSV to 1-0 and made her first league goal of the season.
Second half
Shortly after halftime, FC Twente equalized with a distance shot. The game tilted and then went up and down: both teams looked to attack, the duels became fiercer and the tempo remained high. PSV tried to keep a grip with fight and commitment, but in the 71st and 75th minute the visitors struck hard with the 1-2 and 1-3.
Despite the deficit, PSV Women did not give up. The team continued to search for a tying goal and put good pressure on Twente at times. Through Renate Jansen, PSV had an excellent chance, but the goalkeeper of the visitors saved. PSV continued to go all out in the final stages, but lacked the necessary sharpness and accuracy to really strike.
