Brenet, who was very positively surprised by the honor, was not on the island himself. Therefore, he asked his mother's brother to receive the award for him. The Curaçao Sport Ambassador Award is presented annually in various categories to Curaçao top athletes who are active abroad at top level. Brenet won the award in the category "best professional football player abroad.
