PSV and Spezia Calcio 1906 have reached an agreement on the transfer of Jeroen Zoet. After 260 official matches in the main squad, the 29-year-old goalkeeper has opted for a new adventure in Italy. 'We grant Jeroen this transfer wholeheartedly,' says technical manager John de Jong. 'Jeroen has broken through from the youth academy and has been of great value for the first team. That's how we like to see it here.'

Loyal
In an era in which players are changing clubs ever more quickly, Zoet was a loyal, valued force at PSV for many years. After a loan spell at RKC Waalwijk at the beginning of his career, he grew into a permanent fixture in Eindhoven. The goalie was a base player in three championship teams and also won the Johan Cruijff Schaal twice with PSV. In the final months of last season, he played for FC Utrecht on a rental basis. De Jong: "Every professional sportsman has to deal with good and less good periods. If we judge Jeroen's PSV years, we can speak of a success story. PSV's education has produced an excellent goalkeeper and he is leaving here through the front door after mostly great years. We are proud of that."

Sweet: PSV wonderful part of my life
The goalkeeper, born and raised in Veendam, is starting a new chapter in his career with the ambitious Serie A promoter. "PSV is and will remain a beautiful part of my life," said Zoet, who has signed for two years in Italy. "I've grown up here, won prizes and now it's time to take the next step. I'm going to miss PSV in every way, but at the same time I'm looking forward to pushing my boundaries in another country."
