Commentary Marcel Brands
Gianluca Scamacca, born Jan. 1, 1999, has played for AS Roma since 2012. Before that, he played football at city rival Lazio. Scamacca signed at the Philips Stadium for 2.5 years. The arrival of the just 16-year-old Italian striker is an uncommon transfer, technical manager Marcel Brands explained to the camera of PSV TV. "It is normally not the market where we get youth players directly from. Of course, we see a lot of youth games, mainly from national teams, and that's where he stood out. We got the signal that he really wanted to come to the Netherlands," Brands said.

"Scores incredibly easily"
"He sees Holland as the best country for the development of a young player. We have been working on this for the past few months and also watched him a few times at Roma. It's quite a step at a young age. He is also a very big boy for his age, he is already towards 1.95 meters. He is physically highly developed already and very skilled for his height. He scores incredibly easily, both with his team and nationally." Scamacca will start at PSV O17. "Then he can acclimatize quietly for the first few months and we can see how he picks it up," Brands said.
