PSV player Sisca Folkertsma is facing a special match. The former Feyenoord captain will play her old team at De Kuip this weekend. With a win, the team is almost certain to be winter champions, but a possible party has not yet been considered.
It has been an excellent season so far, where do you think it will end?
"We are really looking at it match by match, because otherwise I don't think it will go well. Every game is a final, because every team is just strong. That's really how we are in it, so beat Feyenoord first."
Played everything so far, are you satisfied with your own season?
"In the beginning it was a bit of a search, but that's logical. A new team with a different style of play, you have to find your way around. I think after a few games I have succeeded well. I feel free, my teammates help me with that. I can now do what I'm good at during the game."
It must be nice, coming back and being first right away?
"That's also because the team was just really strong already. Then it's also a lot easier to step in. But we are indeed doing very well, we have to keep that up."
What do you expect from Feyenoord?
"Feyenoord is a very stiff, strong team. We also play in De Kuip, so that's an extra charge all the way. They will do everything to make things difficult for us, so we have to stay sharp and focused so they don't take us out of our concentration."
Is it also an extra fun match for you because you see former teammates?
"I think it's always fun when you run into acquaintances. Well of course I see a lot of old acquaintances, so that does make it extra special."
Will there be a little celebration should you become winter champions?
"I don't know, we haven't looked that far ahead. Maybe we will, but we just need to see us win first."
Feyenoord Women - PSV Women starts Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN 4.
