The number one against the number eighteen: PSV-Vitesse. That match is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Philips Stadion. The last time the Arnhem squad took three points from Eindhoven was ten years ago. Then a current PSV player managed to score on behalf of the yellow-blacks.
Earlier this season, Jerdy Schouten made his debut for PSV at the GelreDome. A goal by former PSV captain Marco van Ginkel initially put the main squad behind. Fortunately, it was expertly cleared in the second half and turned into a 1-3 victory. Yorbe Vertessen, Luuk de Jong and Ismael Saibari accounted for the goals. Last season's home duel with the Arnemmers ended in a 1-0 win thanks to a distance shot from Guus Til.

In 39 league matches in front of their own public, Vitesse has won 31 times in total, lost five times and three times both teams kept a point from the game. The last draw dates back to 1996 and the last time PSV lost to Vitesse at home was just over a year ago. On December 7, 2012, the Arnhemmers, then under the management of Peter Bosz, won 2-6 at the Philips Stadion. Patrick van Aanholt was playing on a rental basis for Vitesse at the time and scored that night.
Young talent
The Belgian Johan Bakayoko (20 years and 358 days) has scored in the past three games. This makes him the second-youngest foreign player to succeed in doing so in the service of PSV. His predecessor is none other than Ronaldo. The Brazilian scored four consecutive games in 1995 at the age of 18.
Johan is having a good season at PSV and his numbers are in the hunt for an old Eredivisie record. The winger has so far accounted for nine goals and recorded the same number of assists. He can become the youngest player, at the age of 20, in the Dutch league with at least ten goals and assists. The current record is held by Filip Đuričić, who finished the 2011-2012 season with ten goals and twelve assists as a nineteen-year-old sc Heerenveen player.
